Good morning everybody.
I would like to talk about my friend in a short story which maybe is fun and maybe is not. I don't know and let me tell you about it. When I was in the third stage of science college I had a close friend called Muna and one day I dreamed that I got 88% in my examination and she got 30% in the same examination so, when I got up in the morning and I went to my college to take my lessons and in the break time I told her about my dream and I told her don't worry it's just a dream but she didn't believe it she took me to see our teacher and checked our marks so, when we checked our marks and it was the same as I saw in my dream, she shook and I began to cry a lot so, I informed my teacher about the dream, he laughed a lot and he told me I shouldn't dream next time and he returned the examination to her. After we left his room we went out and we bought ice cream and we spent a nice day together and I will always remember that dream because it became true.

A joke
Two drunks were iin a pub which was closing. So one drunk said to the other drunk:
- why don't you come to my house for another drinking?
The other drunk, answered:
- Oh yes! But is better to go my house because it's nearer than yours.
The other drunk, answered:
- No, no. My house is nearer than yours.
So, the other drunk thought:
- Ok, lets go! So, we will know which house is nearer.

EMAD(My Story from Stoke-on Trent)
Today I'd like to talk about some events that happened to me one day which was the worst day in my life here in Britain.
I reached Brighton about two months ago .First of all , I could not find a room to live ,so I stayed with my friend Najm, in Sussex.After that, my other friend Falah came to us, he also stayed with us in the same room. Here the problem was that there was no room for me. After a long discussion , we made a decision to travel to another city, Stoke -on Trent, because Falah phoned his friend there, and he told him that there was a room for us. So, the next day we travelled to Stoke and we arrived at night , but what happened when arrived was that we found that there was no room, it was just a joke . By that time , we felt very sad and disappointed .
Anyway , we spent this day and the next day without thinking about anything and we decided to return back to Sussex , to my best friend Najm.Here I'd like to refer to how we were booked to return back.Falah booked online by National Express from London to Brighton at 3.30 pm.
Here what happened, on this day the road was very crowded , because there was an accident on the motorway , therefore we arrived about 5 minutes late. When we arrived in London station ,we got off the bus quickly and ran as fast as possible to get the bus. While we running in the street we saw the bus go past us ." The bus has gone, the bus has gone" I said to myself.
By that time, I didn't know I laugh or feel sad or nervous and unfortunately on that day the weather was raining .I hope everyone in the world has a somewhere to live

In The Lift (Falah)
One day, I decided to go to the hospital to visit my friend and when I got to the reception of the hospital and asked the receptionist about the room that my friend was in it, I was surprised by the answer because she told me he was in room number 709, and this room was on the seventh floor.
The elevator at the hospital had some technical problems. I couldn't go up the stairs because I had a bad knee and cause me many hurt, so I took the lift in spite of technical problems but halfway up, the lift stopped and there wasn't an emergency phone inside the lift. I decided to open the door of lift but I couldn't do that alone. Fortunately after about fifteen minutes of shouting, one of the patients heard me,and he quickly went to the security and told them to help me. When the security men came and helped me to get rid of the problem that occurred to me, I immediately went out of the hospital and went to the home, without seeing my friend.

My Journey From Turkey to Brighton
Hello! I'm Gokhan. Today I'd like to tell to you a small story about me. So I'll write about my first day in Brighton and how I arrived here. I was in Turkey on the 31st of September in the morning. My family and my girl friend took me to the airport. I wasn't unhappy, because I was excited. Eveything were OK until I boarded the airplane. The hostesses told us some information about flying. The hostesses were really funny, because they were like a cartoon when they were giving us information. The airplane took off and then the hostess asked me about my meal. But I had some problems. Because I didn't understand anything. I hadn't heard that language before. Fortunately I had something to eat. I was very tired and slept until I arrived at Heathrow Airport. It was a very big airport and I couldn't speak English. I was afraid for a few minutes. But I didn't have any problems. I found my suitcase easily and I went to passport control. When they understood I couldn't speak English, they found a Turkish employee for me. So, I left the airport. First of all I understood something.The traffic system would be very difficult for me, because it is different from Turkey. The driver sits on the right side of the car here. I learned this. But it was very funny. When I got on the bus to come to Brighton. I tried getting on the bus on the right side. When I saw the wheel and the driver, I was really surprised. I did this again when I tried to get into a taxi. I would be careuful. Any car might crash me.
NAJM(SHORT STORY)
In this moment I'd like to go to my house .In fact it contains four rooms,two of them on the ground floor and the other two on the second floor. The area of my house is one hundred and forty four square metres.My famliy has lived in this area of Iraq for twenty years.There are alot of flowers ,games ,tools and sofas.There is no pollution in my house.When I was twenty years old I met a person called Ali, He told me that there is another person who needs help so I went to this person and asked him can I help you .He answered me yeah excuse me,how can I get to the hospital,please.I told him if you want go to the hospital by bus,cross the road and take bus number 77,and get off at the next stop.It's on the other side of the road.He told me I've got a problem I didn't have money.So I gave him £5.I hope to help all people.May be I will lose my wallet

Sungmee's Free time
What can you do in your free time in Brighton?
I have free time every weekend. I spend a lot of time with my husband.
I do lots of shopping in London or Brighton.
I'd like him to buy many new dresses for me.
And then, We go to a restaurant.
My husband has too much sugar in his coffee.
But I don't like sugar. It is too sweet for me.
So, I don't have any sugar in my tea.
I've been to the Sevensisters.
It is situated in the Sussex downs area. It's near Eastbourne.
There are very beautiful places and nice views.
Most people spend a little time walking and cycling. They are just relaxing.
That place is countryside for visitors to enjoy quiet time.
And there is a sevensister restaurant.
It has a good atmosphere. I think there are lovely places.
Another, In my free time, I often practise playing a string instrument with my aunt.
I play the cello and she plays the viola.
She practises a lot of. But, I don't practise too much .
Because, I study a lot of as well.
Sometimes I go to a musical or opera, ballet where I spend some my free time.
I like it.

If you have free time in Brighton you can visit the many restaurants and pubs. There are a few cinemas - the best one, in my opinion is the Duke of York's, which is a small Arts cinema.
If you have lots of free time I would recommend going for a walk on the Downs where you can see lovely views of the Sussex countryside.

Today I'd like to talk about my free time and how can I spend my free time in Brighton that's because I'm not from here I'm here just to complete my studies and go back to my home (Baghdad) so, I wake up at 5:30am to do my prayers and after that I have a cup of tea with some milk and during this time I check my homework and if I have more time I spend it on surfing the internet and then going to my class and at this time I haven't any free time. When I finished my lessons at 12:45pm I go back to my home also to do my second prayers and then have my lunch with alot of kinds of food because I haven't had any food for five hours and then I study for 2 hours. After this time I have a lot of free time and I don't do anything because I don't have a girl friend here like in my country where we have a good time together so, I have a lot of free time and I think that I spend all of the time in studying and surfing the internet. I would like to spend it doing a lot of things like going to see Brighton, the beach and every thing here and maybe in the future I will have a fun time in my free time.

Free Time in Abu-Nuwas Street ( Falah )

Today I'd like to submit to you a few things about one of the most famous streets in Baghdad.
I have some of the best friends and I spend a lot of my free time with them. Sometimes we go to Abu-Nuwas Street on the beach of the river Tigris , there are many beautiful views near there. There are lots of nice places and restaurants to eat. There isn't much nightlife in this street but there are a lot of cafes and places to go in the evening. there are many fantastic shops, many hotels and a few skyscrapers. There aren't enough parks in the Street and this is a large problem because there are too many people who have cars.

A friday in Spain
I going to try to make a list of things that you can do in Spain on Friday. I hope that If you visit Spain sometime, You can enjoy do it.
You can do a lot of things in Spain because in Spain there are a lot of nice places to see where you will find some restaurants. There are different kinds of restaurants which you can choose from. You will find Mexican, Chinese, Italian, Argentinian restaurants, but especially you will find Spanish restaurants.
In Spain there are a lot of typical food but the most famous are the "Salmorejo", omelet of potatoes and the "Paella Valenciana".
Also, in Spain there are a lot of pubs and discos, where you can dance and meet many people. In the south of Spain it is also very popular to go fot beers with "tapas" with your friends.
On Friday, also you can go the cinema, theatre or some youth performance. In the city where I studied (Granada) it's common to find youmg people in the parks juggling, singing and playing the guitar, it's very fun and everybody is welcome.
Lastly, I invite you go for a walk around the "Alambra" and the "Albaicin" in Granada. Also, there are a lot of monuments in Spain that are beautiful to see.

EMAD FREE TIME
I haven't enough time in my life,before coming here to Brighton and now for many reasons.So I will talk about my free time before and after coming to Brighton .
BEFORE:
I spend most of time with my family when I come back from my job , my family is consist of ten members . In the weekend excatly on friday I always go shopping with my wife in fact my wife doesn't go out just with me .There are a few shops near my house but they are very good shops and supermarkets but also these shops are very crowded. really I always hoped to have the enuogh time to play with my daughter NARJES.

My life here in Brighton is very bornig because I have no many friends , and most of time I spend my time in cooking and after that I must wash the dishes , in the final I go to study, so there are no enough time to study hard.

My General Free Times

I like parks and most of parks are very beautiful here. I usually take a few toys when I go to the parks. I play with my radio control car and fire staff.I sometimes study English in the park. But I think. I won't go to the park much more, because winter is coming. So the weather is cold and rainy. I should do something at home in my freetime. I listen to much music everywhere. I sometimes read a few books, magazines, newspapers. I often cook a little meal for myself. But I only cook easy meals. I go out at the weekends and I meet a lot of friends from different countries. It's good practice for me. We go to many pubs or parties. But sometimes I drink too much alcohol and I don't study very well the next day. Sometimes, I go to my friend's house so I have some fun times. I often watch some movies and a little TV with English subtitles. I like watching movies and it's very useful for my English. I don't go to any restaurants. Because all the restaurants are too expensive and I don't want to spend much money on my meal. I'd like to spend money on travelling or shopping. But I'll go to a few restaurants when my girl friend comes here. I'm bored when I always study English. So, this free time is very important for me.

About Sung Mee have been in England...
I have been to London, Brighton, Birmingham, Ashdown, Hidepark, and Oxford.
When I went to Oxford, I saw Anthony Charles Lynton Blair.
But, nobody spoke to him.
And then, I have seen a musical, ballet and opera in London.
I have studied English.
So, I have met new global friends.
I have eaten English breakfast.
I have often travelled everywhere in England.
I have visited Prague.
I have been to London, and I've just seen Big Ben.
So, Someday, I planning to visit Big Ben again.
I have been to Windsor Castle, but I haven't seen Queen Elizabeth.
One day, I hope to see her.

Living in Brighton (Falah)
Hello; I'm Falah Al-Fartusie
I've lived in Brighton for three months. I've studied English language in Sussex University. After that I'm going to complete my studies in the same university to get a PhD degree in the field of Analytical Biochemistry. Jennifer has been a teacher in the course of English language, she is a very beautiful and elegant girl. I've known Victor, Tariq, Abdulrahman, Sun Mee, Tamae, Goewkan and Marta for two months.
I've been to London, Stoke-on-Trent and Southampton. I haven't been to Manchester but I really hope to visit it one day. I've travelled to lots of places, I've visited Cairo, Alexandria, Amman, Arbed, Damascus.
I've never known the history of Devil's Dyke (near Brighton) but I'm plainning to visit it and learn everything about geology, methodology and the history of it.
I've been to Brighton pier with my friends (Najem and Emad) to walk and have fun and we really enjoyed with it.

WHAT I HAVE DONE IN BRIGHTON
Hello, I'm Victor. I arrived in Brighton on 26 of September. Since them, I have done diferent things in diferents moments, but the most important thing I've done has been to look for accommodation, which is very difficult and, especially, very, very expensive. Once I found a studio flat where I could live, I have been able to do other things, alot of them are very interesting and funny. For example, sometimes I've gone out with friends who I met while I was in a hostel during my first days in Brighton. They are also Spanish.
Furthermore, I've visited the UK's capital city: London. It's an amazing city, the biggest in Europe, where there are a lot of things to do and visit. Although, I haven't been able to see the whole city, becuase I have just been once. That day I saw the city centre (Houses of Parliament, River Thames, London Bridge...).
In the next few days, I'd like to go on an excursion to somewhere nice and quiet but not too far from Brighton.

I will writting about some events that happend in my life specially during the last two months.
I've lived in Baghdad since 1977 , I'v never moved Baghdad.
I've been a teacher at Al-Mustansiriyah University since 2002.
Befor that , I was working as a salesman for 10 years with my father.
I've never had a girlfriend so, I'v been married since 2006 and now I have one children.
For the last two months , I've travelled to London and then to Brighton to getting PhD certificate in Mathematics at Sussex Uinversity .
I've studied English ,to improve my language .
I've had many friends from different countries, like Sung mee from South Korea and other elas .

Also, I have been shopping for clothes for me and some presents for my family and friends.
Also, I have visited London. I have seen Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the Parliament and other monuments in the city centre.
In Buckinghan Palace I have seen the change of the guard and the palace was pull of people, it was impossible to find a space to look.

Brighton Life of Gokhan
Hello I'm Gokhan. I'd like to write about what I've done from the first time until now in Brighton. I came to Heathrow Airport. It was very big and crowded and I came to Brighton by National Express. I took a taxi to go to my new host family and my new life started. I've studied English a lot, because I came here for English courses. I've bought English books. I stuck many small pieces of paper in my room and I've often learnt new words. But I've done other things. I've walked around Brighton. I've taken photos everywhere in Brighton. I've gone to pubs or clubs at the weekends. I've spent a lot of money especially at the beginning. But I've learnt about Brighton. So I haven't spent much money recently. I've never been to London , but I would like to. So I'm planning to go to London in 2 or 3 weeks.I moved to my new room' because my old room was very small and I didn't have a desk. So I've cooked easy meals after moving hause and I've shopped for food. I've met my friends and we've gone to parties. I've started rock climbing again. I haven't been rock climbing for 1,5 years.

From Baghdad to Brighton
Since I have left my home or my country to come to the United Kingdom I have seen alot of things and problems when I arrived in brighton. One of these problems was that I arrived on my own and no one was waiting for me at the airport so I was feeling very sad because of this . This is the first time I have left my home and I didn't know any one there. When I came to sussex university I met colleages from my country and they helped me to find comfortable accommodation and then I talked to Mr. Mike to register on a course of language in the same university so, I'm grateful to them. I have studied English for 5 months so when I finish my language course I will register for my Ph.D.

my plans for near future
First I'd like to talk about my near future. At the weekend I'm going to stay at home to cook and do my home work, and cook my favorite foods which I miss. I also miss my family.
And next month, I think I'll go to the north of England to see my friend who is studying her Ph.D in Maths at the University of Manchester or may be I'll go to the University of Warwick to see my friend who is studying engneering this depending to my situation.
and next year, may be I'll go to come back to my home to see my family.
finally, I think I'm planning to travel to the Germany in far future.

Future plans this weekend
This weekend I would like to go on an excursion on sunday morning. The excursion is in an old church which has one tall tower.
On saturday I want to go for a run on the beach in the morning and I would like to watch a movie by Tarantino in English in the evening.

In December, I going to travel to my country. The holiday will last one month and I want to do a lot of things. First, I have to go to Granada where I have an appointment to take my driving exam; also, I will visit Granada because I have a lot of friends who I would like see.
The second week I will go to my village in Cordoba where my family and childhood friends live.

My company will have an exhibition on the 7th to 12th of December.
So, I think I won't come to school on the last day.

I'm planning to go to London, because I have to learn about Londan when my girlfriend comes here. She's coming here on the 1st of December and I'm meeting her.
